Nuclear War.

Dr. Hardy,

I was preparing to leave from my home in Wooster to take your exam. I had planned on leaving early enough to be there at least an hour before the exam was to start.

As I was getting into my car, there was a blinding flash of light followed by a strong wind. Obviously, an atomic bomb had been dropped somewhere between Akron and Wooster.

Since you are such a kind and considerate person, I knew that you would put my personal safety before any old exam. Therefore, I decide to wait it out in my basement until the radiation levels had dropped.

It was only yesterday that I felt that it was safe to make the trip. Oh, I didn't call because the phone lines were down.
